MEET SOME OF OUR AMBASSADORS
Kevin Southern
PROFESSOR OF CHILD HEALTH.
UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL.
Professor Southern is the Chief Investigator on two national studies that aim to improve the lives of people with CF. He is the Director of the European Standards of Care team, improving the quality of care for people with CF.
"It has been a frenetic time in the world of cystic fibrosis and the conference in Liverpool in 2019 was an important catalyst to much of the progress we have seen since."
Sondos Albadri
PROFESSOR IN PAEDIATRIC DENTISTRY.
UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL.
Sondos is a professor and honorary consultant in paediatric dentistry at the University of Liverpool and Alder Hey Children Hospital. Her research focuses on prevention, care pathways and the link between oral health and overall health outcomes in children with complex needs. She is president elect for the British society of paediatric dentistry.
"The Society ran a new event in Spring 2022 in Liverpool which was the 1st opportunity for our members to meet face to face. This gave us the opportunity to showcase the city and our research and clinical quality improvement."
Dr Mark Robinson
READER OF BIOMECHANICS.
LIVERPOOL JOHN MOORES UNIVERSITY.
Mark has been an academic at the School of Sport & Exercise Science since 2006. His research helps to understand the consequences of the forces experienced by the human body in both clinical and sporting contexts.

Dr Jiafeng Zhou
SENIOR LECTURER IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
AND ELECTRONICS.
UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL.
Jiafeng has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool since 2013. His past and current research interests include microwave power amplifiers, filters, electromagnetic compatibility, frequency selective surfaces, energy harvesting and wireless power transfer.

Dr Claudia Mettke-Hofmann
LEAD FOR ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR, SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES.
LIVERPOOL JOHN MOORES UNIVERSITY.
Claudia’s research field is the ‘Evolution of Cognitive Abilities in Birds’ with a strong interest in the interaction between behaviour and ecology, particularly cognitive ecology. She investigates how evolutionary forces such as ecological factors, social organization, and life-style have shaped information gathering, learning, and memory on the species, population and individual (personality traits) level.
